Artist Bio
Ben Dunham is 21-year-old composer and jazz vibraphonist from Clearwater, FL, whose extensive jazz and classical backgrounds inspire his musical voice. In high school, Ben received awards for some of his compositions both locally and nationally including the PCMEA New Music Festival and the 44th SMA for the Downbeat Magazine. He has had pieces premiered by Camille Thurman, Darnell Green, Peridot Duo, and The _____ Experiment. In 2023, Ben was commissioned by the All-Stamps Ensemble to feature their unique 19-member ensemble featuring a crossover of jazz and classical music. As a vibraphonist, he was nationally recognized by JALC’s Essentially Ellington and Young Arts. In fall of 2023, he released his debut album Homesick featuring his unique artistic perspective, as well as headlining his own trio at the Clearwater Jazz Festival. Currently Ben attends the critically acclaimed Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, studying Music Theory and Composition.
